Diamond Club presents Anne Sandøy – Ghosts and Roses (DC#15)

The previous decade, Anne Sandøy has been the singer and guitarist of Norwegian pop punk trio Mary Me Young. But as her collection of unreleased songs kept growing, she felt an urge to create another musical universe. Melodies in a minor key, vocal harmonies and lyrics concerning hope, disappointments and expectations are key elements of this project.

Ghosts and Roses is recorded in EngfeltForsgren Studio in Oslo, and is produced and mixed by Marcus Forsgren (The Lionheart Brothers, Jaga Jazzist). Anne’s fragile voice accompanied by captivating drums, playful bass and seductive guitars makes Ghosts and Roses a pop song which has its roots in both rock and punk, and the thoughts of the listener is brought to musical references as Cocteau Twins and Margo Guryan.

Ghosts and Roses is released by Diamond Club in april 2013.
