Intertwine was started in 2006 by then 17-year old Tarjei in his bedroom in Larvik, Norway. Tired of reading piano and trumpet sheet music, he started creating his own tracks, weaving distorted and repitched piano-, cornet- and vocal sounds together into melancholic reverb carpets – giving the name of the project: Intertwine. In 2011/2012, three traks were postet on Urørt, all picked up by the staff and played on national radio, while “So what” was awarded Urørt of the week. A week later, Aleksander Berg joined the live band on bass guitar for Intertwine’s first concert ever. 2012 was also the year Intertwine was signed to Brilliance, and Tarjei moved temporarily to Tokyo to study and write new music.
